The lip firming procedure consists in the injection of stabilised hyaluronic acid into lip vermilion.
Molecules of hyaluronic acid have excellent water-binding properties (one molecule of hyaluronic acid can bind up to 250 molecules of water). The injected product integrates with lip tissue, providing a firming and tightening effect. Usually the preparation is administered with a needle, but it may also be introduced in the upper and lower lip tissue with a microcannula. After the injection, a lip massage is performed to ensure even distribution of the preparation.
